Pop Goes The Weasel

All around the cobbler's bench,
The monkey chased the weasel;
The monkey thought 'twas all in fun,
POP! goes the weasel.

A penny for a spool of thread,
A penny for a needle;
That's the way the money goes,
POP! goes the weasel.

The painter needs a ladder and brush,
The artist needs an easel;
The dancers needs a fiddler's tune,
POP! Goes the weasel.

I've no time to sit and sigh,
Or to tell the reason why;
Kiss me quick, I'm off, good-bye,
POP! Goes the weasel.
